This session will explore how to respond to workplace complaints using trauma-informed principles, emphasizing sensitivity, trust, and equity in investigative processes. It highlights emerging municipal trends such as threshold assessments, addressing incivility and off-duty conduct, incorporating support persons, and integrating trauma-informed approaches into workplace restoration.
Through practical case studies, participants will analyze real scenarios to apply these concepts effectively. By the end, participants will be able to apply trauma-informed practices, reflect on when investigations are appropriate, and assess current policies through a trauma-informed lens.

Access to the Labour Relations Information System (LRIS) is a privilege of membership in OMHRA or of the licencing agreement OMHRA has entered into with professional associations representing the leadership of First Responder organization in Ontario. The information gleaned from the LRIS is for the exclusive use of municipal employers and is not to be shared outside of your organization.
Who can access the OMHRA member portal?
Please note that the OMHRA member portal is to be used by members of OMHRA only. Certain workspaces within the member portal will be tailored for and restricted to certain membership types; access to these areas will be determined and approved by OMHRA staff. The Content that is displayed in your member portal will automatically vary based on your user / membership type.
What can be posted?
To ensure all interactions within the OMHRA member portal are safe and friendly, OMHRA staff will oversee the member portal activity and will review, edit, and delete any inappropriate content that has been submitted.
